Favorite metaphor - Ear (Listener)
The most important lesson I have learnt from EIR is working together with my group mates. Using a collaborative wiki page as an example, I learnt how to coordinate with my group mates in doing the wiki page such as distributing the work load, learning to understand and accept my group mates point of view as well as accepting changes in the content.

Practical 8&9 Activity 3
I have chosen Japan as my dream holiday destination. These are some pictures of Japan on Second Life.
I have used Coverage and Accuracy as my evaluation criteria for my multimedia website. I used those criteria to check if the multimedia website covers all parts of Japan as well as providing accurate information on Japan. Accurate information is important as I have not been to Japan before and require information when I visit Japan. Coverage is also important as it will inform me about all that Japan has to offer when i visit the country.
I have always wanted to go to Japan as one of my hobbies is watching anime and reading manga which Japan produces. Besides that, I also like the food from Japan and wish to go to Japan as there will definitely be more Japanese food there as compared to Singapore.

After evaluating the multimedia website and comparing it to my experience in Second Life, I can say that Second Life does not always offer the best experience as it does not provide all that Japan has to offer.

Practical 6 Activity 3
a. Do you think it is more effective to search the invisible web (databases) than using search engines, meta-search or subject directories? Why?
It is more effective to search using invisible web. The databases in invisible webs are up to date and have relevant search results and the articles are very informative for the topic I am doing.
b. Name ONE database which you will use for your research topic. Why?
EBSCOhost database. I tried searching that database before and I found a lot of useful information and articles from that database. Those articles can be used to help in my research for my topic.
c. Name ONE more database which you will use for your course. How will you use this database for your course?
Another database I would use will be LexisNexis. This database gives search results on newspaper articles. Newspaper articles are very informative and results may contain articles that I have never come across before.

E-Learning on Second Life
During the E-Learning session at Second Life, I met HKPolyU student Derek. It was awkwared meeting someone that you do not know but we managed to get along pretty well.
When i asked about his Dream Holiday destination, he replied with Italy. When i asked him about whether it is ethical to use social media for harmful effects, he said that it was bad and unethical because it is against moral rights. I asked him about how can he use Social media in a more responsible way as well as how does he protect himself from the bad effects of using social media and he said not sharing personal information to someone that you do not know.
What I liked about this virtual expierience is that I can meet people from other countries easily. It is also important to observe special manners when meeting other people as it reflects on who you are. It was nervous and exciting when we shared on our dream holiday destination as it is interesting to know where other people would like to go. It was a good expierience discussing about ethics of using social media as it is discussing on how to protect yourself and I gained friendship and knowledge in the process. One challenging expierience I has was speaking to the HKPolyU student at first.

Practical 1&2 Worksheet-Activity 3
If i had $500, I would buy a desktop. The reason for choosing this product is because I do not have a personal desktop at home. When i play computer games, I would have to use my laptop which will cause it to spoil faster. Therefore to prevent that from happening, I would want to get a personal desktop as gaming is mostly done on a desktop. Besides gaming, I can also do some of my assignments on the desktop. They would serve as a backup in case something happens to the work done on my laptop. My family members would also be able to use the desktop for their own purposes as well.

One hobby that I am passionate about is watching anime. There are not really any tips on that but you can try to looks for those which summary interests you, usually they will be interesting to you. One link would be www.myanimelist.net as that site has summaries of almost all the shows available including old shows.
